Memorize every word, punctuation and spelling to write down by memory on March 2nd for test.

The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—
Of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—
And whether pigs have wings.”
“But wait a bit,” the Oysters cried,
“Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!"
“No hurry!" said the Carpenter.
They thanked him much for that.

Homework for Wednesday, 2/9

Students will add 8 sentences showing personification to their class paper. Your score will be 0-8. If I don't like the sentence I will not give you the credit for it. You must work at this, so take the time to make excellent personification examples. Use your sample sentences as a guide and get help if you need it.

Also, you have a worksheet about figurative language. This must also be done, ON TIME, with care!

Have you done your 60 minutes of Compass or FCAT EXPLORER (for those of you who finished your Compass learning path) this week?  You should have in a minimum of 2 hours by Friday, covering Jan. and Feb. (so far)

Yes, the work has ramped up.  You have no science project or history fair project.  This is what JLCP is like. Just Do It. If you get behind, get help immediately. If you miss a day, call a buddy  and check the blogs. Don't turn in late work.....you need the grade..... speaking of...........read below.........

The Basket of Eternal Forgiveness will always be available, but............

.....you will lose a large percentage of your possible score. Late papers lose almost 20% off some assingments. If you did perfect work, you might get by with an 80%. But most papers in the BOEF are not excellent papers, so your score may be less, much less.
ALSO, many papers are coming in without names on them. I am not psychic. Put your name on the top right-hand corner of each page.

Poe-tree! Roots, Trunk and Leaves

Yes, you have a poem to turn in following the instructions on the worksheet. Don't be late! Work on this diligently. You may type up and decorate your poem, but save it to your computer in case it needs some fixing up. Feel free to use computer graphics (sparingly) to decorate your poem. Due Monday.
